It has been quite a journey since we first brought the ex-RNLB Dunleary home to Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Since then, our dedicated team has been tirelessly working behind the scenes to emphasize the significance of this lifeboat to our town’s heritage and our islands’ maritime legacy. Securing funding to kick start the restoration project has been a priority.
Thanks to the generous support from the Heritage Council and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, we have successfully initiated phase 1 of our restoration project. Our volunteers have put in extensive hours of hard work in the Coal Harbour Dun Laoghaire, and we take immense pride in their accomplishments thus far.
The Dunleary is gradually returning to its former glory, and we are beginning to witness its transformation into a fully restored lifeboat once again. Check out our gallery for more pictures of the restoration.
