Great News for the Dunleary!

We are delighted to announce that our restoration project for the historic lifeboat Dunleary has been awarded funding from the Heritage Council’s Community Heritage Grant Scheme 2025.

This funding will allow us to purchase and install a durable protective cover for the Dunleary, safeguarding her from Ireland’s harsh coastal weather. In a recent storm, we lost the previous cover, leaving the vessel vulnerable. Thanks to this grant, we can now ensure her long-term preservation.

The new cover will not only protect the Dunleary but also create a safe and welcoming environment for guided tours, educational workshops, and community events. It’s an important step forward in keeping our maritime heritage alive and accessible for future generations.

We would like to thank the Heritage Council for their support and all of our dedicated volunteers whose hard work and passion keep the Dunleary project moving forward.

Stay tuned for updates as we begin the next exciting phase of the restoration!
